**Project Engineer I - Modeling, Simulation & Analysis
(MS&A) Project Lead**
**What You'll Do:**
+ Lead small teams of analysts, software developers, modelers
and other researchers to develop and operate state-of-the-art
modeling tools to evaluate emerging and conceptual laser
+ Responsible for technical leadership and programmatic
management; technical customer interactions and communications;
project planning, monitoring, and execution; and all aspects of
project document and communications.
+ Participate as individual contributor providing unique
technical contributions to the project goals.
+ Develop assessment or analyses methodologies, usually anchored
to empirical data and theory, in a coordinated fashion with
collaborating theorists, experimentalists, first-principal
computational scientists, or other researchers to quantify the
performance of a conceptual or real technology system under
+ Provide detailed explanation and proper interpretation of
study results through technical briefings and reports to
stakeholders, peer groups and decision makers.
+ Lead or contribute to the gathering and organization of
critical information to support analytical studies and

**What You'll Need:**
+ BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical
field is required plus 8 or more years related experience.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
+ Advanced degree preferred.
+ Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or related
technical field is preferred.
+ Experience in Modeling, Simulation and Analysis.
+ Demonstrated experience in team leadership and project
+ Current Top Secret clearance is preferred. Near-term
eligibility is required.
+ Experience operating within classified program
+ Excellent presentation skills and written communication
+ Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong programmatic background with government or industry
+ Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor,
or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment.
+ May occasionally work in production work centers where use of
protective equipment and gear is required.
+ May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
+ Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other
possible non-Ball locations is required.
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not

be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an
