Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 14 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN with a NM or compact license, two years of recent PCU/telemetry experience, and the ability to pass a cardiac arrhythmia assessment. Responsibilities - Position is in a progressive care (PCU/telemetry) unit with over 18 beds - Hospital setting with high acuity, fast-paced environment - Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week - Weekend and on-call shifts are required as needed - Floating between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius is required - Epic EMR is used; prior experience is preferred but not required - Provides direct patient care using the nursing process across all stages of illness within the PCU setting - Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare team to coordinate and deliver patient-centered care - Supervises LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed - Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs - Orientation dates available at multiple times before assignment start - Passing the onsite BCA test is mandatory on the first day of orientation; failure on the second attempt results in contract termination - Candidates with previous permanent employment must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler - No local candidates within 50 miles are eligible Requirements - Active NM or compact state RN license required - Minimum of two years recent experience in a telemetry or progressive care unit with 18 or more beds - Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required - Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia Assessment (BCA) must be passed prior to or during the first week of assignment; one retest allowed - Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment - Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required - NIHSS certification preferred Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626785.
