Department 5877 partners with other Sandia organizations and the DOE Laboratory Complex to tackle the full system lifecycle of a technical project from concept, design, and fabrication to development testing, performance verification and support of delivered products. An Electrical Engineer is needed to lead a team of engineers and technologists performing RF signal collections exploring phenomenon related to proliferation detection and reverse engineering. Leadership opportunities are available, as well as engagement and collaboration to build strategic sponsor partnerships. Travel is required.We are seeking an outstanding Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team to:* Formulate ideas supporting detection technologies associated with weapons development and write research proposals* Perform complex proliferation commodity analysis and studies in support of US Export Control Programs and all applicable control regimes* Conduct Electrical and software design, and corresponding debugging* Develop/maintain effective working relationships with appropriate sponsor offices and Center organizations to facilitate realization of project requirements* Create and manage classified documentation

Qualifications We Require * You have a Master-s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with two or more years- experience in data acquisition system design, signal processing, RF engineering principles and LabVIEW programming* Your background includes an understanding of following:* pattern recognition and algorithm development* applying digital communication protocols* nuclear fuel cycle and knowledge of the various components* You possess a NW background and understanding of WR system operation and testing processes* You can obtain a DOE Q clearance with SCI Qualifications We Desire
Ideally, your background would also include: * Experiment design background and ability to execute on those designs* Ability to work independently or in a team environment* Willingness and ability to handle multiple high priority projects and continually learn new technologies to enhance project success* Desire to seek personal growth to undertake evolving challenges* Understanding surveillance programs and testing* Ability to work with both internal SNL researches and external researchers* Good communication and writing skills* Ability to mentor team members and work in a fluid environment* Current Q clearance with SCI About Our Team The Threat Intelligence Center enables the national security missions of the defense and intelligence communities to reduce threats to our nation by applying engineering expertise to develop solutions to some of the nation-s most challenging technical problems. The Tailored Operational Support Group (5870) conducts research, development, engineering and analysis for SPP/SIPP sponsors. The group is involved in the program management and development of technologies as part of the Threat Intelligence Center (5800) at Sandia. We provide research, design and development of innovative technologies and sensing systems and technical assessments complemented by intelligence-based analysis. Our teams are diverse technically and reach out to an extended network at the laboratories to address and assess critical national security issues with a multi-disciplinary approach.
