Job Description:
A commercial roofing service superintendent is responsible for
leading multiple service foremen to perform work safely and
productively per specifications and to the standards of the company
and customer.
- To provide leadership to foremen - fostering safety, teamwork
and discipline resulting in efficient and professional roof system
installation
- To provide consistently high-quality service and results
- To represent the company in a professional manner in all
dealings with customers, personnel, and the public
- To effectively manage all aspects of service field work to meet
company and project goals -ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Supervise foreman to lead safe and efficient roof system
installationso - - -Oversee field staff, assisting foremen with
crew leadershipo - - -Visit job sites dailyo - - -Conduct or
participate in daily safety auditso - - -Train field staff in
safety, work skills, and efficiencyo - - -Provide ongoing feedback
to foremen regarding job performanceo - - -Resolve complains and
grievances; assist with discipline when necessaryo - - -Discuss
opportunities for professional developmento - - -Conduct annual
performance reviewso - - -Recommend raises and promotions
- Ensure Production and quality goalso - - -Maintain
understanding of contract information for jobso - - -Track labor
hours and production against stated goalso - - -Schedule materials,
equipment, and deliveries, paying special attention to using
inventoried materialso - - -Monitor material usage, minimize waste,
anticipate shortages, and order materials as neededo - - -Monitor
quality of installations
- Deliver Excellent Customer Serviceo - - -Engage with customers
to answer questions and provide explanationso - - -Schedule daily
or weekly contact with customers to review progresso - - -Discuss
any outstanding issues with customers and other partieso - - -Meet
with customers to verify satisfaction with work and billing;
deliver warrantieso - - -Respond to request for service and

- Manage and coordinate job details between the field and officeo
- - - -Review plans and sites, delegate crews, and do all pre-job
planning including but not limited to assist safety in creating
site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencieso - - -Ensure
crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobso
- - -Submit reports and paperwork and otherwise coordinate
communication between office and job siteso - - -Investigate
incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant
documents, photos, and assessments to the officeo - - -Deliver all
documentation to the office in a timely mannero - - -Review final
paperwork to ensure change orders are reflected and billedo - -
-Participate in final inspectionso - - -Prepare digital work orders
for invoicing and close-out

-SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage multiple crews of individuals
that consist of foremen, roofers, and helpers/laborers, as well as
any duties associated with maintaining business to the company
standards, which includes but is not limited to safety, quality,
productivity, cost reduction, attendance monitoring, and
development of individuals. -QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- High School Diploma or GED plus five (5) years in a commercial
roofing environment.
- Considerable knowledge of various commercial roofing systems,
materials, and installation methods.
- Safety Training: OSHA 30-Hour Card
- Good knowledge of state and local building codes including
Uniform Building Code, and electrical and plumbing codes.
- Experience: determining roof types and estimating materials,
hours, and replacement costs for commercial roofing projects;
directing large-scale commercial roofing projects; interpreting
roofing plans, specifications and standards; determining roofing
product acceptability and developing warranties; developing and
monitoring construction and contract documents.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, in English, and
comprehend drawings and specifications, documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals. -Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to

- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous
materials and situation that require following extensive safety
precautions and may include the use of personal protective
equipment.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry between 15 and 50
pounds.
- Ability to twist, reach, bend, stoop, and squat
occasionally.
- Also be able to be on your feet, to load trailers and the
movement to and from the trailer and the staging area of our
equipment and material.
- Must be able to tilt material or equipment, stack material as
needed, and roll on hand truck to a designated area and place on
floor, ground, or in trailer without harm to themselves or material
or equipment.
- Must be able to lift material and equipment above a person's
head to stack.
- Must be physically able to mount and dismount our lifts,
trucks, or tractors numerous times throughout the day.
- This includes but is not limited to dismounting and remounting
continuously to stack, mark, label and make ready to carry with the
lift or hand trucks.
- Ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds, such as a loaded
wheel barrel.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders up to 40 feet tall or
scaffolding.
- Ability to keep or regain body balance or stay upright when in
an unstable position.
- Ability to work in a working environment that is loud and
noisy.
- Ability to work in an environment with fumes, dust, dirt,
smoke, gases, grease and oils, and solvents.
- Ability to be aware of surrounding area due to working at high
levels and with hot products.
- Manual dexterity to complete projects in a craftsman
fashion.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow safety practices and
procedures used in working on ladders and roofs.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions year-round
with exposure to excessive heat and cold.
- Must be physically able to mount and dismount ladders from
tucks or storage above a person's head. -Employment Classification:
