vary by job classification.What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking
a dedicated Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Technologist
to join our diverse team of engineering and technologist staff to
assist with the scoping/definition, creation, submission, and
implementation of engineering design documents (CAD drawings and
technical specifications) of perimeter (aka PIDAS) and interior
intrusion detection systems.The selected applicant will work with
engineers and technologists to develop clear, concise, and
buildable design "packages". Our design package content varies from
customer to customer based on their needs and the scope of work
involved. The construction phase of the design package may be
performed by Sandia personnel, customer/site personnel,
subcontractor personnel, or a strategic combination of them all.On
any given day, you may be called on to:Create new schematic
drawings from scratch or make the necessary changes to existing
drawingsRead/understand schematics, design prints and
technical/repair manuals or documents or create entirely new
ones.Work closely with the project manager, project engineers and
other CADD technicians to receive instructions, guidance, and
resolve design issues.Help support CAD standardization initiatives
involving drawings, templates, and processes, or adapt ours to meet
customer required formats.Calculate material quantities to inform
cost estimates during ideal operations, interested candidates can
expect 50% of their time will be spent generating CAD documents
with the other 50% of the time spent in the field performing
surveys, field testing, or assisting with PSS implementation that
could involve incorporating as-built conditions to CAD
documents.This position will require up to 25% travel.Due to the
nature of the work, the selected candidate will be required to work
onsite. Some telework/work from home may be authorized based on
mission need and job performance.Qualifications We RequireAssociate
of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Aided Drafting, Automotive
Technology, Electronics Technology, Network technology, Civil
Engineering technology or other similar technology fields involving
CADD.Minimum of five years' of experience using AutoCAD to create,
modify, and coordinate engineering drawings for civil, electrical,
communications (Fiber), network, mechanical, or structural
systems.Experience with architectural/engineering CAD fields like
electrical, mechanical, architectural, or pre-engineered specialty
security components.Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level
security clearance.Qualifications We DesireExperience drafting
building structures, electronic wiring diagrams, power distribution
systems, security vehicle barriers, HVAC systems, site
development/grading and experience creating
construction/fabrication documents like engineering design drawings
and technical specifications.Proven experience in physical security
system Design, Testing, and Engineering.Demonstrated experience
contributing to complete "plan set" based on the scope of work
involved.Possess a strong dedication to positive teaming dynamic,
strong written and verbal skills, detail oriented with a keen focus
on customer service.Ability to work independently and
self-initiated.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and
highly collaborative environment.Active DOE Q-level or DOD
equivalent security clearance.About Our TeamWe are responsible for
the engineering design and installation of physical security
systems (PSS) across multiple DOE/NNSA and DoD locations. Working
closely with our customers, we support projects that typically
start with requirements definition and ends with a fully
operational PSS. Project scope varies based on government policy,
customer requirements/need, existing field conditions, and
available resources. Our scope of work may include the planning &
executing of site surveys to assess the current PSS effectiveness,
development of conceptual or detailed PSS engineering designs,
participation in procurement activities, PSS installation, PSS
performance testing, technical QA/QC over-sight of others
performing the PSS installation, and/or development of
post-installation PSS logistics and maintenance plans.Posting
