The Opportunity

The Construction Manager for Utilities will be responsible for observing, monitoring, and documenting the timely and safe execution of project site, structural, and electrical work performed in the field by construction and contracting crews. The Construction Manager will also assist with contractor management for various projects. Observation of existing conditions, work in progress and completed work will be the responsibility of the Construction Manager and requires coordination with client teams, internal and external project management and project controls, engineering, equipment suppliers, and construction teams. The Construction Manager will also assist in on-site resolution of construction related issues as they are identified and ensure that work is done in accordance with contract documents.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare basic take off
  • Review drawing packages & BOM for completion
  • Coordinate materials between BOM list and construction personnel
  • Field verify materials
  • Assist project management team
  • Track and report project/construction progress and status
  • Work closely with owner team, project management team, contractor management team, equipment suppliers, and owner's engineers, and utilities.
  • Review and manage Contractor Change Orders (COs)
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies
  • Perform and document job safety walk on a regular basis
  • Ensure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs
  • Review and adhere to environmental conformance plans
  • Review task budget, set and track productivity
  • Execute work plans for the construction activities
  • Implement of basic layout, and field measurements
  • Track Request For Information (RFls)
  • Review and verify contractor "as built" drawings
  • Track, and resolve punch list items
  • Prepare task completion reports
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assist with site audits with the Owners Independent Engineer What We Expect from You
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a minimum of 6 years of comparable field experience required
    • Experience with utility scale projects preferred
    • Advanced-level knowledge in:
      • Reading prints and drawings
      • In-depth site engineering and construction
      • Safety and OSHA requirements
      • Scheduling activities logically
      • Construction
      • Project Management
      • Contract Management
      • QA/QC Processes
      • Previous construction management/observation experience preferred
      • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the construction industry
      • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction specifications/manuals
      • Excellent interpersonal skills
      • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with contractors and others on and off the job site
      • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

          Additional Opportunity Details:
          Compensation Range is Generally+/- 15% ofPosition Mid-Point of$98,000*
