Job Description:

We are excited to launch this opportunity to qualified diverse men and women with a large mattress manufacturing company. The incumbent will work the second shift, which is scheduled for 4pm to 2:30 am Monday through Thursday; overtime may be required due to the production schedule. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Follow all safety guidelines and participate as fully empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents * Lead by example, representing the company's mission, vision, and values, and promoting a positive environment. * Maintain high quality, efficient operation of product and equipment. * Wrap mattress with a protective covering and sew ends of covering. * Insert wrapped mattress into a consumer-ready textile. * Seal covered mattress, labeling and applicable documentation into plastic packaging. * Box and strap finished mattress for shipping. * Work at different stations as production needs require. * Operate automated assembly equipment utilizing the HMI controls, and perform manual equipment operation or troubleshooting as necessary. * Maintain and clean assigned work area. * Perform quality inspections at every step in the process to ensure compliance with quality standards. * Use inventory management scanners and participate in inventory. * Carry out netting, covers, boxing, covers, zipper, and labels per written processes and procedures. * Assist in providing training to other associates while following outlined processes and procedures. * Perform as a material handler in the assembly area by pulling materials to be put into production or removing materials from production to be used for another time. * Operate a stand-up or riding forklift and all attachments. * Performs manual and automatic operations on the equipment and the HMI's, including fault finding and troubleshooting. Requirements * High School Diploma or GED is preferred. * Fork truck certification a plus * Basic knowledge of PC usage required to include using a mouse, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. * Be able to work overtime on short notice. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as machine operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules and procedure manuals. * Basic math skills are needed to include addition, subtraction, and fractions for Entry level technicians. * Must be able to measure using the metric system * Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and move pallets of mattresses with the assistance of manual and electronic pallet jacks. * Able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch and crawl. * Position requires repetitive use of hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. * The associate may occasionally be required to climb a ladder or stairs. * While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts. * Depending on the duty being performed, gloves may be required. Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.
