Job Description Coord,Research Requisition IDreq9279 Working TitleCoord,Research Position Grade10 Position Summary The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking to hire a highly qualified Research Coordinator to assist in the coordination and administration of a funded research study/activity or group of associated activities. This individual will assist in project planning, and ensures that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed. Establishes and maintains budgets and fiscal controls for the project, and assists in the development of grant proposals. Recruits and coordinates research subjects, as appropriate, and serves as principle administrative liaison for the project. Oversees and coordinates the provision of administrative and staff services to investigators; develops and maintains record keeping systems and procedures. Conditions of Employment - This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement. - Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. - Knowledge and understanding of the operational, logistical, and administrative requirements of laboratory, medical, and/or field research studies. - Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. - Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to technical staff in area of specialty. - Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management. - Ability to develop and implement recruitment plans. - Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. - Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations. - Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data. - Knowledge of contracts and grants preparation and management. - Skill in collecting, analyzing, verifying, and manipulating research data. - Ability to format and generate summary, statistical, and presentation reports. - Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. - Ability to analyze, develop, establish, and maintain efficient office work flow and administrative processes. - Knowledge of human resources administration principles and practices.
