here! We are hiring a Engineering Specialist (Mid or Senior Level)
to support within the Communications Payload Command and Telemetry
Department, as you will be essential in solving the most
challenging problems for space systems . The chosen individual will
look to provide technical leadership and expertise in the areas of
Spacecraft Communication Payloads, TT&C systems and Ground
Systems. The department's specific focus areas include concept
development and architecture trades, link budget analysis, payload
sizing, hardware prototype, radio frequency interference, and
flight system hardware anomaly resolution. We have extensive and
well-established relationships with national security customers and
is growing our civil and commercial portfolio.**This role can be in
a hybrid work model which offers partially remote support with some
onsite work required. Locations available to support will be either
El Segundo, CA, Albuquerque, NM or Colorado Springs, CO.What You'll
Be Doing:
- Develop tools to support trades requiring evaluation of a wide
range of communication architecture solutions
- Quick-turnaround conceptual design and advanced communication
architecture studies
- Independent assessment, evaluation and verification of
contractor designs
- Enterprise modeling/simulation and digital twin
development
- Predict and evaluate hardware performance and degradation using
analytical or simulation tools
- Lead department technical teams and provide department customer
interface
- Provide timely written and verbal technical assessment reports
to program office customer and management
**This position can be filled as an Aerospace Engineering
Specialist or a Senior Engineering Specialist, based on
experience.What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for
Engineering Specialist:
- Minimum of 8-years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related
field
- Technical knowledge in the following areas is required:
- Analog and digital communication link analysis and trades
- Digital and bent-pipe space communication systems
- Communication modulation and coding theory, electromagnetic
theory
- Have demonstrated creativity in problem solving
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to
interact effectively with program office, customers, contractors,
other technical personnel and levels of management
- Demonstrated successful team leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 10 - 15% domestic travel to AGO and other locations, as
needed
- Experience in MATLAB, Python, and Visual C++
- Currently possess a TS/SCI level security clearanceMinimum
Requirements for Senior Engineering Specialist
- Minimum of 12-years experience supporting space programs as a
communications engineer
- Leadership experience of multi-discipline teamsHow You Can
