Apply today!The Propane (LP) Bobtail Driver will play a crucial role in providing propane deliveries to our commercial and residential customers in a safe and efficient manner, with a key focus on customer satisfaction. In addition to fuel delivery, this unique opportunity will also include responsibilities with the installation, repair, and maintenance of propane/fuel equipment.To ensure success, one must have a willingness to multitask, a passion for customer service and the aspiration to be involved with building a local business. This will require excellent communication skills, a positive attitude in the face of challenges and the ability to execute on identified solutions. Above all else, personal safety and the safety of our customers must take on the highest priority.This position will support our Pico Propane and Fuels location in Albuquerque, NM.Duties/Responsibilities:Complies with all city, state, and federal regulationsLoads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locationsPerforms pre and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materialsMaintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulationsMaintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safetyEnsures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisorUpholds excellent company representation standards and equipment presentationWorks to exceed customer expectations through effective communication and serviceEnsures customer safety through prefill inspections, awareness and system testing, as requiredPerforms other related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Proven work experience as a Fuel Delivery Driver (required) and Service Technician (preferred but not required)Advanced knowledge of propane and refined fuel systems (preferred)Ability to obtain a NM propane delivery certification within three (3) months of employment (if not already certified - required)Ability to obtain a NM service and installation certification within twelve (12) months of employment (if not already certified)Willingness to learn and grow and uphold a customer culture that continually strives to exceed expectationsAbility to solve problems and repair equipment on siteAbility to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical mapsAbility to maintain accurate driving and service logs and recordsAbility to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervisionEducation, Certification, Licenses Required:High school diploma or equivalent requiredClass A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements requiredPropane (LP) certification (highly preferred but not required)Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsMust have a valid driver's license with a clean driving recordPhysical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 100 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift.Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shiftGood hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night.Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and armsMust be able to speak and hearPosition is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company providerMust pass pre-employment screening and background checkPosition may require working evening hours and weekends as neededWork is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. airborne particlesThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work that is expected to be performed.
