Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.Salary Range$86,300 - $166,800*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking an R&D Electronics/Semiconductor Automated Test Engineer (ATE) to create automated semiconductor test capabilities for microelectronics products for national security missions.Every day, you will have exciting opportunities to team with nationally respected semiconductor device and reliability engineers to solve a wide variety of experimental challenges for new products and unique test conditions.On any given day, you may be called on to:Evaluate, develop, and debug complex test methods.Automate a wide variety of microelectronics test equipment like Keysight ATE, digital vector testers, and semiconductor parameter analyzers.Support microelectronics testing with equipment setup, remote site field tests, and problem solving.Design hardware for testing, including load boards and probe cards.Create tester user interfaces and test algorithms to support engineering test campaigns.Analyze and present data from tests to support product assurance.Qualifications We RequireBachelor's degree in Computer or Electronics Engineering or a related STEM field plus five (5) years' experienceExperience running and programming, using C++ or other object-oriented language, automated test equipment for wafer or integrated circuit testingStrong software coding skillsThe ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q clearanceQualifications We DesireExperience with semiconductor testers such as Keysight 4772 or B1500, Cohu, DiamondX, Verigy 93000, NP EXA 3000, and Teradyne CatalystExperience developing and implementing test plans for characterization and parametric testingExperience designing and debugging device interface boards and probe cardsScripting program knowledge: Python, Perl, UnixData analysis skills: Labview, JMP, MatLab, ExcelSystem administration skillsFamiliarity with semiconductor manufacturing and theory of operationsAbility to work independently and collaborate well in a diverse team of designers, test engineers, and research scientists.About Our TeamThe Advanced Microsystems Radiation Effects team (org. 5251) supports Sandia's Microsystems Engineering, Sciences and Applications (MESA) silicon fabrication and ensures the manufacture of production radiation hardened CMOS wafers for the nation's nuclear deterrence mission. Our production test capabilities include several modern wafer parametric testers and automated wafer probers both in a fab environment and an engineering laboratory.
