CARDIO TECH OUTPATIENT - EP/DEVICE CLINIC WITHIN HEART GROUPProvides primary support to the provider by proactively anticipating the providers needs, preparing the patient for the visit using established patient preparation guidelines, maintaining efficient patient flow, and assisting the provider with treatments and proceduresPerforms scribe functions to assigned provider(s)*Uses advanced training to perform procedures with completed and documented competency, within scope of certification and PHS policy and under the direct supervision of the provider. These procedures include performing treadmill exercise tolerance tests, stress echocardiograms, 6-minute walk tests, and nuclear stress tests. Provides coverage to the EKG Department

Cardio Tech II for EP/Device position involves supporting the Electrophysiologists, EP APCs and RN Device Clinic. This includes patient rooming process for in-person & tele-health visits, chart abstracting, cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) downloads, accessing CIED remote monitoring sites and other databases related implanted devices, daily involvement in event & holter monitoring workflow, managing in-basket phone messages for Device Tech pool, satellite travel, cross-coverage to other areas within PHG and other various duties to support the EP/Device Department.


  • Completed Medical Assistant program from an accredited school
  • Maintains current training in following: BLS (AHA and ASHI Healthcare Provider) required for allAnnual Basic Arrhythmia Class and Pass Basic Arrhythmia Challenge Test within 9 months of hire date*Completes Scribe training
  • 1 year of cardiac medicine experience AND 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant. Requires knowledge of complex cardiac rhythms and arrhythmiasMaintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS).*Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe. High school or equivalent
