This is a 2nd shift fabrication technician opportunity that
works 4 pm to 2:30 am Monday - Thursday and as production
The Fabrication technician works in Lamination, Trim, Scrap, or
BSA departments. The associate may work in one or more departments.
This includes, but is not limited to cutting product, compressing,
convoluting, laminating, trimming, cleaning up, product management,
material handler/forklift driver, and more. Performs all of these
responsibilities while creating a safe work environment for him/her
and all other technicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following,

* Follow all safety guidelines and participate as
fully-empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of
zero incidents. * Lead by example, representing the company's

* Maintains high quality, efficient operation of product and
equipment. * Assists with other tasks associated with mattress
fabrication. * Move materials and/or mattresses between stations
using pallet jacks and/or forklift, * Maintain and clean assigned
work area. * Perform quality inspections at every step in the
process to ensure compliance with quality standards. * Trained to
use inventory management scanners. * Participate in inventory.
* Learn and carry out line processes per procedures. * Can
assist in providing training to other associates while following
outlined processes and procedures.

* Intermediate knowledge of PC usage required to include using
Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations. *
Demonstrated ability to multitask with excellent attention to
detail. * Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks. *
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. *
Ability to prepare routine reports, as required. * Be able to work
overtime on short notice.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
* High School Diploma or GED is preferred * Typically requires
2+ years' experience in manufacturing, preferably at Tempur-Pedic *
Combination of education and experience will be considered
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as machine
operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules and procedure
manuals. * Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor,
lead, co-workers, and other personnel. * Must be able to read,
write and speak fluent English.
* Basic math skills are needed to include addition, subtraction,
and fractions for Entry level technicians. * Intermediate math
skills are needed, to include concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios and proportions for Intermediate and Advanced
level technicians. * Must be able to measure using the metric
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Intermediate and Advanced must have or must be able and willing
to obtain a forklift certificate or license.
