Job DetailsJob LocationMain Campus - Albuquerque, NMEducation Level4 Year DegreeJob CategoryEducationDescriptionPosition Summary:Charger Aquatics is seeking an experienced, dynamic and positive individual for the position of Head Age Group Coach. This position is responsible for oversight of the Age Group Program, Lead Coach for the Age Group 1 and Age Group 2 practice groups, as well as performing administrative duties. The Head Age Group Coach will also provide oversight of all Lifeguard needs for the Natatorium, as well as Summer Aquatics Programming.Essential Functions:CoachingAct as the Primary Coach for the Age Group 1 and Age Group 2 practice groupsSupervise Age Group Program coaching staff in coordination with the CAQ Head CoachEstablish a positive practice environment, while teaching self-discipline, dedication and responsibilityDevelop and maintain seasonal and quadrennial training plans for the Age Group ProgramDesign and implement a framework for swimmer development through the Age Group ProgramAttend all swim meets according to Competition Schedule set by CAQ Head CoachAssist/Substitute with other practice groups as neededAdministrationAct as Team Registrar for CAQ, performing all necessary registration for the teamField phone calls and emails regarding CAQ programmingMaintain and update website as necessaryPerform monthly billing for CAQ programming through FACTS softwareCoordinate and schedule CAQ team tryouts and waiting listAct as CAQ Team Representative to NM Swimming House of Delegates Lifeguarding/Summer Aquatics ProgrammingLifeguardManages all aspects of Red Cross lifeguard certificationTrains, Hires, and maintains a population of lifeguards for facilityPerforms scheduling of lifeguards for all facility needsPerforms payroll for lifeguard staffCoordinates AA Varsity Lifeguard needs in addition to CAQSummer Aquatics ProgrammingCoordinate Summer Aquatics programming in the Natatorium (i.e. swim lessons, Pre-Team, ThinkSummer pool usage)Supervise Summer Aquatics programming StaffCoordinate the Registration process for Summer Aquatics programmingWorking Environment:Work ranges from Pool Deck (primarily indoors), as well as an Office Setting.Work hours are variable depending on practices, needed administrative work, and time of year.Weekend and evening work including, but not limited to, swim practices, swim meets, parent meetings, team banquets, lifeguard training, and Summer Aquatics programming.Physical Demands:ActivityFrequencySpecific Task(s)BalancingOccasionallyStorage items and swim meet suppliesCarryingOccasionallyStorage items and swim meet suppliesClimbingFrequentlyNatatorium stairsColor visionFrequentlyPaperworkCrawlingRarely if everCrouchingOccasionallyFilingDepth PerceptionFrequentlyOffice work, swim practicesDriving a vehicleOccasionallyGolf carts or other AA vehiclesHandlingFrequentlyMail, file folders, office materials, membership items, pool suppliesHearingConstantlySwim practices, swim meets Phone calls and other conversationsKneelingOccasionallyFiling and storageLiftingOccasionallyFiling, storage, and suppliesPushingOccasionallyDolly/storageReachingOccasionallyOffice storageSeeingConstantlySwim practices, swim meets Office workSittingFrequentlyOffice workSpeakingFrequentlySwim practices, swim meets, Office workStandingFrequentlySwim practices, swim meets, Office workStooping OccasionallyLife/move itemsWalkingFrequentlySwim practices, swim meets, Office work and campus wide communicationQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree requiredRed Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification preferredCurrent Coach Membership with USA Swimming RequiredASCA Level 3 Preferred, ASCA Membership RequiredKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesExcellent human relations skillsEffective verbal and written communications skillsAbility to learn quickly and understand new software applicationsStrong knowledge of Google software (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc)Knowledge of database management software for CAQ dataKnowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting software (Senior Systems ideally)Familiarity with TeamUnify website development software Familiarity with online commercial banking software for credit card reconciliationExperienceMinimum 3 years experience coaching 12 & Under Athletes3-5 years supervisory experience is requiredPrior experience managing an aquatics or similar athletic program is desiredPrior experience in accounting, payroll, and account reconciliation is desired
