Summary and Objective Applied Technology Associates (ATA), a BlueHalo company, is seeking successful and driven candidates to fill multiple Electrical Engineering positions. Working as a team-member of the Embedded Systems Group or the Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Systems Group the electrical engineer will design, simulate, and test electrical subsystems across a wide range of projects, including terrestrial and space-borne applications. Electrical engineers at ATA provide support in circuit design, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, printed circuit board design, cable and wiring diagram, and system integration. Essential Functions The Electrical Engineers duties will include: + Circuit design + Schematic capture + Printed circuit board layout and routing + Electrical circuit test and troubleshooting + Cable and wiring harness design + Electrical system assembly, integration, and test support + Creating supporting documentation for designs and systems Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Core Competencies + Schematic and PCB capture software (Altium Designer strongly preferred) + Wiring and cabling of integrated systems + Experience with mixed signal circuit card design, simulation, and layout including devices such amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, digital functions, microprocessors, and point-of-load regulators + Understanding of popular communications interfaces including RS?232, RS?422, RS?485, serial peripheral interface (SPI), inter-integrated circuit (I2C), low voltage differential signaling (LVDS), and Ethernet + Understanding of isolation of ground loops, being able to diagnose and troubleshoot grounding issues within a system + Experience using common electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers, and function generators Desired Competencies + Experience with high-speed circuit card design, simulation, and layout for high-speed digital circuits including devices such as field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), memory, high-speed communications, and controlled impedance signaling + Experience with radio frequency circuit card design, simulation, and layout including devices such as frequency converters, high-power amplifiers, receivers, and exciters + Experience with high-power electrical designs, high-current switching, time-delay and electronic override circuit breakers, and high-power battery systems + Experience with high-reliability or radiation-hardened electrical components + Use of Microsoft Visio for creating cable and wiring drawings + Military wiring standards Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment and in a laboratory environment. Occasional work inside a cleanroom environment may also be required. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and other equipment as needed. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may occasionally require longer hours and weekend work. Travel Travel may occasionally be required to support project needs, both locally during the day and out-of-area overnight. #LI-BP1 Required Education and Experience + Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited four-year university with at least 3 to 5 years of experience with embedded and/or RF electronics design, integration, and testing. + Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Clearance Preferred Education and Experience + Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited four-year university with at least 7 to 10 years of experience with embedded and/or RF electronics design, integration, and testing + Have an active security clearance ID: 2021-2270 External Company URL: om
