Albuquerque office of our client seeks an associate attorney preferably with 3+ years of litigation experience. The candidate will work with a team and individually on case assignments, write briefs, take depositions, coordinate with experts, and evaluate client intake. Will oversee the screening of cases to determine legal merit and appropriateness. Determine construction defect issues that should be litigated. Manage and coordinate expert work. Manage and prepare depositions, mediations, arbitrations. Write timely briefs, complaints and other legal filings. Lead client communication during case. Provide guidance and technical assistance to paralegals and legal secretaries on assigned cases. Develop strategy to help ensure successful resolution for clients. Specialize in collection law and litigation. Research the law applicable to cases or matters. Continue any outside practice of law. Provide legal representation in court to insureds and the company on various matters of real property title law and general corporate law. Analyze legal authorities such as statutes and case law. Analyze the law on complex issues. Conduct legal research and provide legal services. Supervise attorney on more complex matters. Direct outside counsel in litigation matters. Provide legal representation and counsel to advance business goals consistent with relevant state and federal law. Identify, monitor and communicate changes to federal law, state law, local laws, and case law for impact on existing products. Manage a medium size field law office. Draw up legal documents and manage legal transactions. Stay abreast of developments in the law. Carry out and organize research on legal issues involving corporate law and commercial contracts. Communicate directly to requesting attorney. Prepare cases for litigation or adjudication. Support corporate legal matters, such as advising executives on legal risks. Make use of technology and automation in the practice of law. Provide research, legal memoranda, counsel, and advice on legal matters. Must have experience drafting and arguing motions before courts, taking depositions, drafting written discovery, and preferably trial/arbitration experience. Construction or engineering experience is preferred. Must be admitted to the New Mexico Bar.
