Job Description The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Laser and Electro-Optical systems (LEOS) is looking for a Senior Facilities Plant Engineer to provide construction and facilities support on the development of advanced defense technology for a variety of customers and platforms. This position will support the day-to-day operations as well as long-term planning efforts related to ongoing and future work at our location in Albuquerque, NM . Position Responsibilities: * Provides support to management and engineering and conducts activities related to short- and long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement construction projects and maintenance operations. * Advises and works with internal and external customers to analyze, design and complete facilities construction projects and maintenance activities. * Applies engineering principles and methodology to translate customer requirements into feasible options that meet expectations regarding scope, resources and cost. * Plans, manages and executes projects, which may involve external vendors and customers, in accordance with construction documents as well as applicable regulations, standards, codes and ordinances. * Maintains and archives relevant contract documentation and records. * Leads project teams to develop complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the architectural phases of buildings, equipment installations, and utility systems. * Reviews architectural designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials and takes appropriate corrective action. * Researches technologies related to facilities, shares learning with others and trains personnel regarding operation and maintenance of facilities and assets. * Coordinates closely with multi-functional teams including operations, facilities, engineering, IT, security and safety to successfully execute projects and processes. * Ensures projects comply with regulatory and company requirements. Leads team in implementation of regulations and company processes. * Actively identifies and implements process improvements, with an emphasis on safety and quality. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): * More than 5 years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications. * More than 5 years of experience in Facilities Project Management or Construction Management. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Experience in the operation, integration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
