The Systems Engineering Solutions Strategic Business Unit
provides advanced systems engineering and technology applications
for intelligence and information enterprises. These applications
and solutions deliver enterprise data management, data analytics,
modeling and simulation, and technology assessment capabilities
that are used to create products that offer actionable information
in support of warfighters and decision makers.
Senior Advanced Systems Manager – Business Development
What You'll Do:
Identify, research and monitor potential business opportunities
within the local and national Government-related markets for
subsequent pursuit and capture.
Use the Ball business development tracking process for
developing pursuit and investment decisions.
Coordinate and collaborate with other business development
personnel within the Ball Aerospace organization to pursue larger
Develop and present capture plans to management using both
informal and formal Ball gated process for business
Be the focal point and representative capture lead for assigned
Develop informational material to support proposal preparation,
business development and general marketing.
Prepare and lead the development of proposals, ROMS, RFI/RFQ
responses, and white papers.
Attend Government sponsored industry days, trade shows, and
other business-related information gathering events.
Manage new business overhead budgets and associated projects for
Participate in the IR&D coordination and development process
for assigned business area.
Conduct analysis to identify relevant information pertaining to
business pursuits of interest. Ensure proposed solutions will close
on mission requirements or stated objectives.
Collaborate with other technologists, researchers, engineers to
understand existing or near-term capabilities for formulating
Operate as a program lead with assigned technical staff and
infrastructure personnel (contracts, talent acquisition, security,
supply chain management, etc.) to stand up and execute new business
opportunities. In general, operate as an “acting” program manager
until a permanent program manager can assume the
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Follow Department of Defense procedures for the proper usage and
safeguarding of classified information.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support
Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order
to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary .
What You'll Need:
BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
of Education .
Degree in Sceince or Mathematics preferred.
MS or PhD preferred.
Demonstrated experience with business development in area.
Demonstrated experience in program/project leadership.
Demonstrated experience working in an engineering or research
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top
Secret security clearance.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication
Work is performed in primarily in an office, but may require
periodic visits to laboratory or outdoor research environment.
Travel and local commute between Ball facilities and other
non-Ball locations will be required.
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not
required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must
be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an
offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable
