currently looking for an Electrical Engineer/Electronics Hardware
Designer to join our W80-4 SE3540 and SE3539 tester development
team. This opening provides an excellent opportunity for a highly
motivated individual with a scientific or engineering background
and a desire to make significant contributions to Sandia on a Tier
1 program.Our team of test engineers and technologists contribute
toward the success of multiple NW programs. Our organization has
extensive mission experience and technical knowledge, and we are
looking to grow our team with engineers that have a broad range of
skill sets and want to learn about weapon systems and obtain new
skills.On any given day, you may be called on to:Collaborate with
SNL Systems Organizations and other internal stakeholders.Design
and test electrical circuits boards and automated tester equipment
hardware.Integrate lower-level designs and subsystems into a
complete system working across a wide variety of engineering
domains (hardware, software, mechanical, aerospace, etc.).Provide
technical direction to electronics technicians in the installation,
calibration, troubleshooting and operation of electrical, controls,
data, and instrumentation hardware and systems.Troubleshoot
anomalies and failures during various states of testing and
development to identify the root-cause and develop/implement
mitigations.Design automated test solutions for NW systems -
including test fixtures, cables, electrical sensors, and
instrumentation hardware.Due to the nature of the work, the
selected applicant will be required to work onsite in Albuquerque,
NM. Some travel may be required for this position.Qualifications We
RequireMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant STEM
field, plus (1) one year of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in
stated field, plus (5) five years of experience; OR equivalent
related experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the
knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and
development (in lieu of degree).Experience in board-level and/or
component-level circuit design.Ability to obtain and maintain DOE
Q-level security clearance with a Sigma 15 caveat, which includes
random polygraph testing.Qualifications We DesireAdvanced degree
(Master's or PhD) in above-stated relevant fields.Expertise in
designing digital and/or analog circuitry including sensors (e.g.,
FPGA, Mixed Signal, ASIC).Modeling and analysis experience using
MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, Mentor Graphics, etc.Experience with
automatic test equipment (ATE) - hardware and software.Experience
with nuclear weapon program and projects.Active DOE Q-level
security clearance (or DOD equivalent).About Our TeamThe ND System
Electrical Test Department (02332) performs electrical and
functional testing, at the system-level, to support Sandia's major
ND modernization programs. Additionally, our team is responsible
for the design, development, and manufacture of system-level
development testers used for system-level functional testing. Our
department is responsible for all electrical and functional
system-level testing on the W80-4, Mk21, W87-1, and B61-12
programs. The department maintains and operates multiple
laboratories across SNL and interacts extensively with the design,
environmental testing, and qualification teams of major ND
modernization programs.Posting DurationThis posting will be open
