working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Rio Rancho,
New Mexico, 87124! Job Title: PCU RN Profession: Nursing Specialty:
NIHSS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 1900-0730 Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: Two years of current experience in an eighteen-plus bed
telemetry or progressive care unit. License: State Nursing License
or Compact State Nursing License Certifications: Basic Life Support
(BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
certification, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
certification Must-Have: Selected candidates must successfully pass
a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test. Candidates will not be able
to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite
administered test. Should they fail, candidates will have one
opportunity to re-test. A second failure will result in contract
cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced. Description:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an
assigned group of patients during a shift. Floating between
departments and local locations within 20 miles is required.
Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and
equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by
assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting
individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient,
family, and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents
appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication
and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and
documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and
family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the
episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical
supervision of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed
assistive personnel. Floats between departments and local locations
within 20 miles as required. Provides nursing care for a medically
complex patient population awaiting community placement in a
long-term stay setting. Cares for medical-surgical level patients
in a facility without a direct escalation path to ICU. Recognizes,
de-escalates, and responds to deteriorating patient conditions.
Maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of one nurse to seven patients.
Works weekends as needed. Participates in on-call and call-back
