As a Locum Physician in General Medicine, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across multiple sites in New Mexico, including Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, and Grants. Your clinical expertise will help ensure veterans receive the care and support they deserve, all within a schedule that accommodates your professional and personal priorities. Required Skills include: Valid medical license in New Mexico Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine Experience with compensation and pension examinations is preferred Strong interviewing skills with the ability to perform basic physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength) Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently within a defined geographic area Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with VA or military-related assessments Certification in DMA or related areas Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic documentation Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Active state medical license Proven experience conducting C&P exams or related assessments At least 2 years of clinical practice in general medicine or a related specialty Other Requirements: Own or have access to an office within a 50-mile radius of the specified locations Ability to perform exams on a PRN basis, including half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts Ability to complete administrative follow-up tasks such as report writing and addendums Travel expenses included within rates; no additional reimbursements for certifications or portal training Immediate availability preferred, with start date targeted for March 6, 2026 Benefit from a competitive hourly pay rate of $624.00, with no overtime, holiday, or per diem rates applying.
