Major Duties of the Position: - Provide quality outpatient anesthesiology services in our progressive, innovative health care system for the veteran population. - Deliver patient-centered anesthetic care for a variety of outpatient procedures across multiple specialties. - Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing outpatient procedures. - Administer anesthetics, monitor patients' vital signs during procedures, and manage patients' post-anesthesia recovery. - Collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care. - Manage pain control and provide consultative services for patients experiencing acute and chronic pain in the outpatient setting. - Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to educational development programs affiliated with the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine. - Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and research, and be eligible for a faculty appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of New Mexico. - Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for outpatient anesthesia patients.
