Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 11 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a progressive care unit position requiring two years of recent telemetry experience and successful completion of a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test. Responsibilities - Work in a progressive care unit (PCU) with 18 or more beds - Patient population includes telemetry cases - Night shift position with 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), three shifts per week - Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required - Epic EMR is used; experience is preferred but not required - Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation - Coordinate patient care and collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team - Administer medications and treatments as ordered, documenting according to protocols and policies - Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as required - BCA testing is administered during orientation with termination after two failed attempts - Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to department needs Requirements - Active RN license from New Mexico or a Compact State - Minimum two years of current experience in a telemetry/progressive care unit with at least 18 beds - Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment - Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required - BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required - Must successfully pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test, with one retest allowed - No local candidates; must live at least 50 miles from the facility - Returning former permanent staff must have at least a 1-year gap before being eligible Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-667504.
