State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.Weekend RequirementNoOn Call RequirementNoPOSITION TITLE: Cardiac Sonographer (Registered)DEPARTMENT: Echo Lab (Echocardiography)POSITION SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients.MINIMUM : High school diploma or equivalent. Two year allied health education program that is patient care related. Allied health occupations include but are not limited to: diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and/or registered nurse preferred.CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required. State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association. to communicate effectivelyDemonstrates strong organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively with others from a variety of disciplinesAbility to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditionsManual dexterity to perform echocardiograms.EXPERIENCE: Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred.NATURE OF SUPERVISION:-Responsible to: Director of Cardiovascular ServicesENVIRONMENT:- Bloodborne pathogenCMay be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens.
