Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, evenings - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a NM or compact RN license and two years of large ED experience. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital - Patient population includes a wide range of emergency cases in a fast-paced setting - 12-hour night shifts, including weekends (1700-0500), three shifts per week - Floating to departments or local locations within 20 miles is required - Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required, training is available on site - Responsible for providing patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in a fast-paced emergency environment - Administer medications and treatments and document according to policy and standards of care - Coordinate patient care with healthcare team and provide clinical supervision of LPNs and assistive personnel - Identify and address patient and family education needs from admission through discharge - Competency and protocol training will be completed to meet department standards - Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia test is completed onsite during orientation; failure to pass after one retest results in termination - First time travelers are not accepted; previous travel assignment required - Specific dress code and scrub requirements not stated /n /n Requirements/n - Active NM or compact RN license required - Minimum of two years current experience in a large Emergency Department is required - Completion of at least one previous 13-week travel assignment is required - Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required - Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required, obtained through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross - Must successfully pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test before starting; one retest opportunity allowed - Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted - Former permanent employees must wait one year before being eligible for consideration as a traveler /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-656666.
