American Traveler is seeking an experienced PICU RN with NM or
compact licensure, BLS, and PALS certifications for a rotating
schedule at a Level I trauma children's hospital. /n /n
Responsibilities/n - Work in a Pediatric ICU within a Level I
trauma, teaching, and acute care hospital - Assignment consists of
either 3x12 or 4x12 rotating shifts; ability to work both day and
night shifts required during the contract - Weekend requirement of
4 shifts per schedule for day shift and 4-5 shifts for night shift
including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights - Nurse-to-patient
ratio of 1:2 in the PICU - Floating within scope required,
including to NICU and as a resource in the Peds ED (without full
assignment) - Patient population includes respiratory
distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme/oncology
cases, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempt - Experience
with CRRT, ECMO, vents, and inotropic drips necessary - Uses Cerner
EMR - Night shift hours are 19:00 to 07:30 - No on-call
responsibility - Block scheduling is not guaranteed - First-time
travelers are welcome to apply - Black scrubs required; not
provided by facility - Free parking available on-site - Requests
for more than 7 days off require approval /n /n Requirements/n -
Active NM or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS and PALS certifications required - Minimum 1.5 years of PICU
RN experience required - COVID vaccination required; medical and
religious exemptions accepted with documentation - No local
candidates living within a 75-mile radius considered - Experience
