Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, flexible - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with charge nurse experience and ability to scrub for a hospital-based operating room assignment. Responsibilities - Position is in the hospital operating room (OR) environment - Requires ability to scrub as part of the surgical team - Assignment consists of three 12-hour varied shifts per week - Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required - Patient population includes a variety of surgical cases, with ortho, EENT, and vascular experience considered a plus - Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required and can be trained on site - Responsible for direct patient care and nursing process in the OR, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care - Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel - Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Must pass facility-specific orientation and competency testing per unit standards - Must wait one year after working as a permanent staff member at this health system before being considered as a traveler - Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered Requirements - Active NM or compact RN license required - BLS certification required; must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross - Minimum two years of current large OR experience required - Previous charge nurse experience in OR is required - Must be able to scrub in the operating room - Completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment required - Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required - PALS and ACLS certifications are preferred but not required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613967.
