Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/15/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment requiring ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications at a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital. Responsibilities - Work on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a large acute care, Level I Trauma, and teaching hospital - Patient ratios are 1:5, with the possibility of 1:6 due to high capacity - Floating to PCU, other Med/Surg-like units, lower acuity settings, and ED is required and expected - Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) - Weekend requirement is two weekends per four-week schedule, subject to unit needs - Uses Cerner EMR system - No on-call requirements - Position includes duties in IV starts and telemetry patient care with high-acuity cases - Compliance requirements must be met promptly within the first 1-2 weeks post-offer - Scrub color is black; scrubs are not provided - Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before a mandatory break is required - Former perm employees may return as travelers if out of system for at least 12 months - Holiday time off is limited to one holiday block; additional requests may require approval - RTO requests over 10 days require approval; no RTO permitted during first or last 7 days of contract - First-time travelers are accepted Requirements - Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration) - Minimum one year recent Med/Surg Tele experience - Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required - IV start and telemetry skills required - COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with provider documentation - No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility - Driver's License (non-local) required, or written transportation plan if unavailable - RQI certifications are NOT accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627043.
