Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details - Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106 (New Mexico healthcare jobs) - Facility: Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital - Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract - Start Date: December 15, 2025 - End Date: March 16, 2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) - Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48-hour contracts available) - Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours per week (facility may call off up to 3 times during the assignment) - Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule (may vary by unit) - Floating: Required to Med/Surg Tele, PCU, and lower acuity settings within skillset; may float to ED - Charting: Cerner EMR - Scrub Color: Black - Parking: Free onsite parking - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1870 Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NM or compact state; New Mexico RN license can be pending at submission) - Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (No RQI certifications accepted) - Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring - Skilled in interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias - Willingness to float to other units as needed - COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation) - Non-local candidates only (must reside more than 75 miles from facility) Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit - Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Phillips cardiac monitors - Start and maintain IVs, administer medications, and manage complex patient diagnoses including heart failure, COPD, renal transplant, trauma, stroke, and oncology - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services - Float to PCU, ED, and lower acuity units as required based on hospital needs and RN skillset - Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR - Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
