Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/15/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least one year of experience and an active or pending NM or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital - Patient ratios are typically 1:5 and may occasionally be 1:6 - Responsibilities include IV starts and telemetry monitoring - Travelers are required to float to PCU, other med/surg-like units, and lower acuity settings within their skillset, including the ED with a 1:5 ratio - Night shift schedule consists of four 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) - Charting is done using Cerner - Black scrubs are required but not provided - Contracts may be for 36 or 48 hours per week - No call required - Weekend coverage is required two weekends per four-week schedule, subject to unit needs - First-time travelers are accepted - Hospital operates at high capacity, offering fast-paced and dynamic work environment - RTO (request for time off) of more than 10 days requires approval; no RTO is allowed in the first or last 7 days of the contract or during holiday blocks without prior approval - Holiday RTO is limited to one holiday bundle, including major holidays - Parking is free on site - Travelers who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff may return as travelers if they have been away for at least 12 months - P/F testing is required - Annual and orientation modules must be completed as part of onboarding Requirements - Active or pending NM or compact RN license - Minimum of one year recent Med/Surg Tele experience required - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (RQI certifications are not accepted) - COVID vaccination required unless a medical or religious exemption is documented - Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility - Personal transportation is required - Ability to float within scope to other appropriate clinical areas as needed - Must complete drug screening within 30 days prior to start - Ability to complete hospital compliance requirements promptly Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627011.
