Job Description:

$8.00 salary increase available - Clinical Advancement Program participant Sign-on Bonus and Relocation Reimbursement available! Outpatient work-life balance - Choice of 8 or 10 hour shift - No weekends, holidays or call Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of Ambulatory Specialty Practice patients
  • Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Triage patients as necessary in daily walk-in clinic
  • Coordinate all activities of the specialty related to patient care
  • Serve as liaison between patient/family and various members of the health care team
  • Counsel and teach families regarding medical conditions, diagnostic procedures, medication control, and other interventions
  • Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of services to provide optimal care for the patient within the specialty patient area with specialty surgical procedures
  • Participate in programs and committees related to the specialty or as directed
  • Conduct professional and public speaking engagements for educational and public relations purposes
  • Participate in educational opportunities and workshops associated with area specialty
  • Review daily lab and diagnostic work on specialty work-up to assist in the direction of the specialty evaluation
  • Collaborate with community physicians on the daily care of specialty patients
  • Coordinate diagnostic procedures for complications that occur after specialty surgery in consultation with physician
  • Direct the management of patient care caseload pre and post operative to provide continuity for the specialty patient and their families
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
  • Provide input and assist in the formulation of departmental policies and procedures and budget as requested
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety
  • Identify and report/correct unsafe environmental conditions and/or situations
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care Requirements:
    • Program Graduate - Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
    • 3 years directly related experience
    • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
    • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
    • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds, and 10-25 pounds frequently
    • Might work with bio hazardous materials that require PPE and may work on holidays, weekends and rotating shifts Bilingual candidates in English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo are encouraged to apply. UNM Hospitals is an equal opportunity employer.
