Overview: Join the Presbyterian Heart Group's team of nurses, physicians, and advanced practice clinicians in caring for patients with cardiovascular heart disease. We are searching for an EP/Device RN to join our Arrhythmia and Device Service. We have a large volume RN Device Clinic, serving multiple sites within Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Preferred candidate will have experience in cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) management, advanced knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias, antiarrhythmic medications and cardiac rhythm treatment protocols and procedures. Primary responsibilities include in-person and remote CIED evaluation, testing and reprogramming of all CIEDs (pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization devices, and injectable loop recorders), collaborating with electrophysiologists and APCs on cardiac rhythm and device issues, patient education post implant, and long-term management of devices that includes patients enrolled in research protocols and manufacturer MD notifications. Additional responsibilities include handling telephone inquiries, seeing patients in the office, and assisting the hospital team. You will be interfacing with patients, family members, providers, schedulers, and outpatient caregivers as an essential member of our 21st century multidisciplinary team. The Cardiology Device Clinic Nurse is a highly skilled, technically adept nursing position that serves to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document professional nursing care of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED) to include pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy and implantable loop recorders. Is proficient and comfortable functioning autonomously as a provider for CIED management but also functions as a valued team member in the overall cardiology care of CIED patients. Perform in-person CIED evaluations, completing the required testing, assessment and management of device function for optimal performance; assess patient symptoms and clinical status with regard to patient's implanted device; address need for arrhythmia management, and/or adjustment of antiarrhythmic medication, anticoagulation and possible need for invasive electrophysiological intervention thereby collaborating with Electrophysiologist and/or cardiologist, or arrhythmias. A strong patient advocate, providing patient education specific to CIED management, underlying electrical heart rhythm abnormalities, arrhythmias and other cardiac related conditions. As a patient liaison, this position functions as an expert resource within Presbyterian Healthcare Delivery system in collaboration with primary care physicians, cardiologists, nursing staff, APCs, medical assistants, clerical and scheduling staff, Radiology department, Research Department, Hospice services and invasive CVL/Electrophysiology Lab. Bachelors degree preferred. *RN-NM, Current licensure in New Mexico as a registered nurse *1-2 years experience (2 years preferred), in critical care, interventional cardiology/electrophysiology lab or cardiac step-down unit.. *Strong cardiology background preferred. *BLS certification & ACLS certification required *Completion of a professional CIED program through Arrhythmia Technologies Institute (ATI), PrepMD or similar program preferred. *CIED management experience preferred *International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification desirable *Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills to interact effectively with persons of all levels and background *Proven ability to collaborate effectively, demonstrated effectiveness as a team member and patient advocate *Ability to isolate problems, formulate solutions, and effectively facilitate/implement solutions *Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy *Strong organizational, analytical, writing and presentation skills Benefits: We offer more than the standard benefits!
