Job Description Overview Lead, Certified Medical Assistant,
Medical Oncology-Hematology, Full Time, Days, Albuquerque, NM. We
are looking for a Lead, Certified Medical Assistant to join our
Medical Oncology-Hematology team in Albuquerque, NM. This full time
job is located at Lovelace Medical Group, a multispecialty provider
group, which includes clinics, doctors and advanced practice
providers in a broad range of specialties and primary care, and
provides patients with exceptional health care through the support
of Lovelace Health System hospitals and technology.
Responsibilities Lead, Certified Medical Assistant Job
Responsibilities: Leads and oversees the daily duties of assigned
staff within a designated department. Provides guidance and
training to assigned staff responsible for clinical duties to
include rooming and triage of patients, discharge, and scheduling,
processing orders, obtaining prior authorizations and completing
assigned work queues. Works directly with Manager to improve and
develop processes. Performs clinical and administrative duties that
assist in the delivery of effective patient care within assigned
area. Demonstrates knowledge of medical practice and patient care
as it relates to the clinical setting and medical specialty.
Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure
compliance and patient safety. Qualifications Lead, Certified
Medical Assistant Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and completion of a medical
assistant program from an accredited institution; and national
certification required from one of the following certifying bodies:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and proof of current
certification from American Association of Medical Assistants
(AAMA); OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and proof of
current certification from National Healthcareer Association (NHA):
OR National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and proof of current
certification from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT);
AND 3 years--- experience in a Medical Assistant position required.
2 years--- Lead or Supervisory experience preferred. Medical
Equipment: AED, autoclave, BP cuffs (adult, infant, and pediatric),
colposcopy, cryo unit, disposable equipment (gloves, goggles,
gowns, etc), EKG machine, glycosometer, nebulizer, nitrogen
cylinder, O2 cylinder, pulmonary function machine, pulse oximeter,
scale (adult and infant), spirometer, stethoscope, thermometer,
wheelchair, and woods lamp. Office Equipment: Computer and printer,
fax machine, telephone system, time clock, and copy machine.
Software: MISYS, E-Prescribe, and PMS May be crossed trained in
other clinical specialties: Ob/Gyn, Neurology, Pediatrics,
Podiatry, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and any other
clinical areas Must maintain BLS certification; and, if required,
