The core responsibilities are receiving and triaging emergency medical telephone calls along with dispatching medical ambulance crews to designated locations in order to provide prehospital care to injured or ill patients for the Albuquerque Ambulance Service at Presbyterian Healthcare Services. This position also functions as the first level Supervisor of the Dispatcher/System Status Controllers and as a resource for maintaining consistent communication between Managers, Scheduling, Operations, Field Supervisors and other Dispatchers.Have questions?Contact Casey Bland, Albuquerque Ambulance Recruitercbland2@phs.orgCall or Text: (505) of Opportunity: Full TimeFTE: 0.900000Exempt: NoWork Schedule: 3-12hr Nights (1800-0600)Responsibilities:Monitors compliance with established policy and procedure for both medical and non medical job performance as well as compliance with Standard Operating Guidelines and CARES Behaviors.Serves as a resource for the Dispatcher/System Status Controllers in maintaining consistent processes within the Communications Center across all shifts.Interfaces on a regular basis with the on duty Operations Supervisors to maintain strong communication between the Operations and Communications departments.Functions as a Dispatcher/System Status Controller on a regularly scheduled shift which is to receive emergency medical telephone calls and dispatch medical ambulance crews to designated city locations to provide pre-hospital care to injured or ill patients.Maintains a professional relationship with other EMS agencies and hospitals to coordinate interagency and interdepartmental cooperation and communication.Maintains accurate, legible dispatch records for the department to determine emergency medical crew availability and prepares an informative briefing log for the relief dispatcher.Regularly attend Dispatch meetings, Supervisor meetings and actively participate in the Orientations for New Employees.Oversee the trainers to ensure consistency in new employee training and complete final clearance of all new Dispatchers.Provide oversight of major disaster coordination within the communications center.Qualifications:High School Diploma1 years of experience as a Dispatcher/System Status Controller in a high volume system and/or MPDS - Medical Priority Dispatch System required1 year experience in the AAS Communications Center preferredAbility to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions is requiredBenefits:We offer more than the standard benefits!Presbyterian employees gain access to a robust wellness program, including free access to our on-site and community-based gyms, nutrition coaching and classes, wellness challenges and more!Learn more about our employee benefits: work at Presbyterian?As an organization, we are committed to improving the health of our communities.
