Overview:Job DescriptionType of Opportunity: Full TimeFTE: 0.900000Exempt: NoWork Schedule: NightsSummary:Oversees and takes an active role in all critical and acute respiratory care procedures, coordinates all day-to-day shift operations Responsibilities:Responsibilities:

  • All Registered Respiratory Therapist responsibilities.
    • Provides education / staff development and orientation of new employees.
      • Clinical expert and resource for respiratory care within PHS.
        • Facilitates customer related issues, including problem solving.
          • Controls staffing patterns in order to maintain appropriate UOS / FTE.
            • Participates in programs for respiratory staff, attends meetings, and chairs committees as needed.
              • Shift oversight which includes: hiring, performance appraisals, counseling and direct supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapists, Certified Respiratory Therapist and Respiratory Student Externs.
                • Rotates as supervisoron call for PHS Pulmonary Services.
                  • Participates in departmental QM monitoring, and policy and procedure development/revision.
                    • Provides education to other departments regarding respiratory care issues. Qualifications:Other information:Two to three years college level courses/Associates Degree/Diploma in Respiratory Care. Registered Respiratory Therapist with credentials from the NBRC, New Mexico State Respiratory Care License, BLS / ACLS or PALS certification preferred. Three years critical care experience plus at least two years supervisory experienceEducation:Essential:
