classification.What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking a highly
motivated Manager, R&D Science and Engineering, to join the
B61-12 System Engineering Management Team. The selected candidate
will lead a diverse group of staff in Organizations 2322, focused
mainly on component realization for the B61-12 program. Specific
focus areas for the organizations include providing Weapon System
Engineering support for component organizations focused on
production requiring integration with Production Agencies. Our team
collaborates across the laboratories and require close partnership
with other systems engineering, component, materials science, and
testing/analysis organizations. The organization also team with
external Nuclear Security Enterprise sites and customers including
LANL, KCNSC, Pantex, NNSA, and USAF.On any given day, you may be
called on to:Guide the work of your department and staff.Understand
the work of your organization and connect the work and expertise of
your staff with potential beneficiaries, collaborators, and
customers.Promote excellence by leading and coordinating specific
work, overall program and project plans, budgets, structures,
schedules, and staffing requirements.Build trust-based
relationships to ensure that customer needs are satisfied.Apply
organization knowledge and experience to independently judge work
quality, performance, and alignment of results with customer
expectations.Build and strengthen your team to include hiring,
professional development, and performance management.Counsel and
assist your team as the B61-12 matures through production, while
also being part of the larger Center 2300 modernization efforts
through activities such as the center's culture pillars.Due to the
nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work
onsite in Albuquerque, NM. Some travel may be required for this
position.Qualifications We RequireMaster's degree in relevant STEM
discipline, plus four (4) years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree
in stated field, plus eight (8) years of experience; OR equivalent
combination of relevant education and/or experience that
demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the
duties of the job.At least two (2) years of validated leadership
experience.Working knowledge of Nuclear Weapons programs and
processes.Experience working with NNSA and associated laboratories
and/or plants.Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent (DoD Top Secret
clearance).Qualifications We DesireAdvanced degree (Master's or
PhD) in above-stated field.Engineering or scientific experience
and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and
ability to perform independent research and development.Strong
knowledge of capabilities at Sandia and within Nuclear Security
Enterprise partners.Recent experience working on a nuclear weapon
modernization program.Demonstrated experience developing and
implementing system engineering processes.Demonstrated experience
effectively networking and partnering with organizations both
inside and external to Sandia.Demonstrated experience developing
and managing a team to high performance, including the willingness
to partner effectively with a management team on a large
program.Ability to represent Sandia to external customers.Ability
to effectively motivate employees, manage personnel issues, and
resolve conflicts.About Our TeamThe B61-12 Life Extension Program
is a crucial nuclear weapon modernization program that is currently
in full scale production. The B61-12 addresses critical reliability
and aging issues as well as compatibility with legacy and new
aircraft. The primary objectives of the LEP are consolidation of
all B61 mods except the B61-11; maintaining military effectiveness;
improving safety, and security; and reducing overall National
Nuclear Security Administration and Department of Defense cost of
ownership over the life of the system. Sandia's current
participation in the B61-12 LEP includes conducting design agency
activities, acting as the technical integrator, teaming with its
design agency partners (Los Alamos National Laboratory) and its
production agency partners (Sandia, LANL, Kansas City National
Security Campus, Pantex Plant, Y-12 National Security Complex, and
Savannah River Site).Posting DurationThis posting will be open for

Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or
equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government

National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA
