  • Find ways to save company money by improving/streamlining internal systems or procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of new technologies, strategies, industry developments and standards.
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise. Quickly address internal and external escalating issues.
  • Work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contribute to a positive work environment for the entire staff.
  • Consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.

  • Promote a productive working atmosphere and champion continuous improvement efforts.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Perform all HR, Payroll, and Recruiting responsibilities for 40+ employees.
    • Manage and maintain HR software (WorkforceGo!), including electronic onboarding, employee changes, terminations, etc.
    • Coordinate onboarding for new employees.
    • Coordinate yearly renewal of employee insurances with Controller/CFO.
    • Oversee employee insurance and 401K open enrollment, new enrollment, and employee changes. -
    • Ensure employee benefits are reported, paid timely every month, and employee deductions are updated accordingly.
    • Update and maintain Employee Handbook.
    • Develop process for and oversee employee evaluations.
    • Coordinate monthly Employee Lunch and Learns and present via Teams.
    • Oversee manager and employee development training.
    • Setup and manage USI Safety website to ensure a safe work environment is being promoted.
    • Setup and deploy the Recruiting Module in WorkforceGo! or an alternative solution to track recruiting.
    • Complete setup of Best-Self Review in 15Five.
    • -Develop compensation structure by state (NM, CO, TX, AZ).
    • Keep up to date on issues affecting Company and employee relationships.
    • Oversee employee licenses and certifications to ensure all stay current.
    • Ensure that the company is compliant with all Federal and State HR laws (NM, CO, TX, AZ).
    • Assist with employee relation concerns while keeping the best interest of Company in mind.
    • Manage and ensure appropriate actions are taken regarding terminations.
    • Work closely with Company Leadership Team on all employee legal actions, i.e., grievances, claims, etc.
    • Complete all required State and Federal surveys and compliance requirements.
    • Oversee requests for VOE's (verification of employment.)
    • Regularly review HR practices and processes to ensure compliancy.


      • HR Certification or equivalent experience of 5 years.
      • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
      • An innovative and motivational mentality.
      • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
      • Confident and goal oriented.
      • Ability to travel infrequently to all offices (NM, CO, TX).
      • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
      • Proficient with HR packages is desirable. -
      • Knowledge of construction industry practices.
      • Must be able to maintain high level of confidentiality.
      • Demonstrable math proficiency (percentage calculations and verifications).
      • Effective Interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to recognize and resolve issues.
      • Analytical skills.
      • Amiable in dealing with employee-related questions/situations.
      • Conflict resolutions skills.
      • Understand HR law and federal government requirements. -


        • Must maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable
        • Must be able to maintain a balance during stressful work conditions
        • Must be able to successfully complete required drug and background checks
