Director of Construction Services PERIKIN is a proven and established international professional services, advanced engineering, and construction firm with over 130 professionals helping the nation achieve its national defense objectives. Our Construction Division is focused on providing best in class construction management, general construction, and design-build services. We operate primarily in federal markets working with the Department of Defense, multiple US Army Corps of Engineers district offices, and the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration among others. We are headquartered in Albuquerque, NM with offices in Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, Washington DC, Ohio, and Mexico. The Construction Director is the senior most ranked construction professional within the company, a mentor, a proven problem solver, and an effective leader. The Director of Construction Services understands both the intricacies of active ongoing construction contracts on the ground and the strategic interests of the firm. He or she is also responsible for setting the strategic vision, goals, and objectives for the Division. The Director will possess exceptional leadership and communication skills to properly direct all construction divisional objectives including but not limited to overseeing business development, project cost development and negotiations, proposal development, conflict resolution, contract staffing, employee management, strategic asset allocation, and working with our joint venture partners to achieve divisional objectives. The Director will have experience managing multiple concurrent projects across multiple states with the goal of bottom-line performance, brand development, and program development. The Director will be an active and engaged participant of the company's Board of Advisors. Location: Albuquerque NM preferred. Will consider remote conditional on qualifications and ability to travel to Albuquerque and other site locations on a frequent basis as needed Employee Status: Full time exemptJob DescriptionCorporate Responsibilities:Provide Strategic Vision and thought leadership to PERIKIN and its affiliatesDevelop and implement strategic plans for the divisionLead Business Development effortsDevelop and maintain a living annual and 3-year forecast working with the CEO and CFOEmbrace financial accountability and budget managementProvide monthly Construction Division performance reports to leadershipSkillfully manage internal and external strategic relationships Construction Division Management:Demonstrated ability to manage in a COVID environment and make proper accommodations for labor and supply chain issues Engage with key customers to achieve shared project results and drive program developmentLead Capture Strategy, Bid/No Bid decisions, and proposal developmentOversee technical, cost, and schedule execution of all projectsEnsure projects are completed on time, on budget, and within project specificationsLead and emphasize quality and safety programsOversee the successful management of multiple multi-state concurrent contracts Manage and grow the company's bonding line of creditPersistently drive continuous improvement for the organization and its construction delivery capabilitiesOversee, delegate, and manage preliminary budgeting, bidding, scheduling, estimating, value engineering, permitting, subcontractor selection & buyout, drafting subcontracts & scopes of work, shop drawing review & coordination, product expediting, subcontractor coordination, cost control, submittals, RFIs, negotiation of change orders with customers and/or subcontractors, and project close-out.Have thorough knowledge of all major project issues and prioritiesConduct field/site inspections Select and participate in industry conferences and networking eventsOversee and support the development of technical and cost volumes for RFP's Personnel Supervision:Manage and lead a high performing team of 25+ construction project managers, project coordinators, superintendents, quality, safety, and other construction professionals across multiple statesOversee, manage, mentor, train and evaluate construction division employees Foster innovation and transform traditional construction practices by driving new methods Responsible to lead and manage multiple construction teams across the country as well as hire additional construction team members to manage growthManage and coordinate internal and external project team members from various disciplines including architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, etc.Establish and meet customer service expectationsRequired Qualifications:Undergraduate degree required in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field or equivalent work experienceAt least 5 years' experience as a project manager in a general construction fieldDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team; minimum 10 years supervisory experience.Intermediate to advanced experience in Earned Value ManagementIntermediate to advanced experience in Primavera/P6 schedulingIntermediate to advanced experience in PROCOREIntermediate to advanced experience in MS ProjectIntermediate to advanced experience Microsoft office/ Excel SpreadsheetsAdvanced Construction Estimating abilitiesUS Army Corps of Engineers - Construction Quality Management CertifiedIntermediate to advanced experience with Federal Government Contracting & Federal Government bid and proposal processes Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Ability to manage heavy email traffic and clearly communicate using email.Ability to prioritize, work concurrently on multiple jobs, and perform well under stress.Ability to negotiate and develop relationships with subcontractors and contracting officers/managers who may have little construction knowledge.Skilled in estimating and project management.Possess exceptional organizational and planning skills (detailed oriented person)Ability to recognize and solve problems independently.Ability to manage budgets and schedules.Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
