Job Description:

Powers is searching for an energetic, experienced, and entrepreneurial leader for its Albuquerque-based division servicing New Mexico and W. Texas. This individual will serve on the Senior Management team with bottom line responsibility for the division and will receive strong support from Powers' leadership based in Denver. The role will lean heavily on sales responsibilities, including both architectural promotion of our exclusive product lines as well as bidding/closing work with general contractors. Additionally, this individual will manage a talented Install Superintendent w/ 15+ years of direct experience installing our products. Historical sales volume in the territory averages in the $2 - $3M range, and this individual will be instrumental in helping us to profitably grow this recently acquired business (formerly Daylighting Solutions).
Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:-- Serve as the product and sales leader within this territory (New Mexico, El Paso, W. Texas)-- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key Architects, General Contractors, and building owners-- Identify project opportunities and create demand for our product lineso Conduct product and continuing education presentations o Maintain strong awareness of project opportunities and manage the sales pipeline utilizing our CRMo Build product awareness among architects and owners o Provide design and specification support to architects-- Participate in key industry trade shows and networking events (AIA, AGC, among others)-- Estimate, bid, and close work:o Understand product applications, specification requirements, and project risks o Perform accurate material takeoffs and labor estimateso Understand the competitive landscape and negotiate with manufacturers to ensure competitive pricing o Develop and execute successful bid strategies to close work -- After closing sales, diligently transition projects to the operations team for executiono Maintain highly organized electronic documentation to make this transition as smooth as possibleo Take an active interest in project performance and collaborate with the operations and admin team to ensure the successful and profitable execution of our work-- Assist with completing sales reports as required by our manufacturers-- Assist in establishing sales, gross profit, and divisional profit forecasts and participate in strategic planning Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic
  • Proven sales and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or related engineering or architecture field
  • Valid drivers license, insurable, and ability to travel throughout territory as/when necessary Compensation Package:
    • Base salary in the $100 - $125K range depending on experience
    • Attractive incentive compensation based on division profit contribution (5-10% of division net)
