Sigma Science is hiring two Program Managers to support a growing portfolio of projects. One position will be based in New Mexico (Albuquerque or Los Alamos office) while the other position can work remotely. WHAT YOU WILL DO: The selected candidate(s) will serve in dual roles, performing Program Manager responsibilities (described below) and performing direct-bill work for Sigma client(s). The direct-bill work responsibilities will be determined upon hire and based on client needs and candidate qualifications/expertise. It is estimated that roles will be split approximately 50/50.--The Program Manager is responsible for: Monitoring projects/tasks to ensure scope, cost, schedule, and quality meet or exceed client and Sigma expectations. Collaborate with Sigma's Contracts Management Team to ensure contract commitments and deliverables for assigned projects/tasks are clearly understood. Develop plans or assist assigned staff to develop plans that define how deliverables will be managed to meet or exceed requirements and customer expectations. Ensure project/task risks are identified and lead and/or support staff with development and implementation of mitigating actions. Collaborate with Sigma's Finance and Accounting Team to manage program/project budget and costs.Review project/task invoices for accuracy and completeness, recommending payment in a timely manner, and support resolution of outstanding payments. Collaborate with Sigma's Contracts Management Team and Finance and Accounting Team to resolve issues pertaining to scope, cost, or schedule on assigned projects/tasks. Prepare performance status reports that provide perspective on scope, cost, schedule, quality, risks, and mitigating actions to meet client and Sigma reporting requirements. Collaborate with Sigma's Contracts Management Team to facilitate timely and accurate management of contract modifications. Demonstrate accountability and maintain ownership for program and project/task performance. Demonstrate a culture of learning and improvement by sharing operational experience and lessons learned. Leading, managing, and mentoring assigned staff to enable positive outcomes for Sigma, employees, and clients. Ensure staff understand and adhere to contract requirements for assigned projects/tasks. Establish performance expectations for staff, provide timely and constructive feedback, and ensure accountability for achieving expectations. Establish and maintain routine and frequent communication with assigned staff to maintain visibility into assigned projects/tasks. Track, review, and approve timecards and expense reports for staff in a timely manner. Work closely with Sigma's Human Resources Team to recruit, screen, interview, hire, and onboard new employees. Work closely with Sigma's Human Resources Team to facilitate performance management (including annual performance reviews), retention, and separation processes. Establishing effective partnerships with assigned clients based on trust, communication, and transparency. Serve as Sigma's primary point of contact with the client for assigned projects/tasks. Establish and maintain routine and frequent communication with the client to gain and/or maintain insight on expectations. Communicate performance status to the client and to the Sigma leadership team. Collaborate with clients to resolve issues pertaining to scope, cost, or schedule on assigned projects/tasks. Leveraging partnerships with assigned clients to identify and support pursuit of new opportunities that enable growth for Sigma. Identify new opportunities to support existing clients and communicate them to the Sigma leadership team in a timely manner. Support business development processes, including pre-proposal planning and proposal development.WHAT YOU NEED (Minimum Job Requirements): A bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or a combination of specialized training/coursework in project management.10 years of relevant experience (or a minimum of 15 years relevant work experience without a degree).Proven experience in program and/or project management.Proven stakeholder management skills.Demonstrated record of success in leading, managing, and motivating a team in pursuit of organizational objectives.Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications and ability to effectively perform in both individual and group settings.Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Competency in project management principles, concepts, and tools, to include EVMS measurement and reporting systems.An active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance, or the ability to reinstate a previous one.
