If so, you could be the highly motivated individual we are seeking to join our team as an Engineering Support Technologist.On any given day, you may be called on to:* Work with other technologists to support engineering staff with hands-on design, prototype, assembly, verification and testing of high voltage test modules and high voltage switches.* Join a high performing technical team in the design, development, qualification, and delivery of highly specialized components and subsystems for national security missions.Qualifications We Require* Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology, plus two or more years of directly related experience; or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.Qualifications We Desire* Experience/course work with analog/digital electrical circuits, circuit design and trouble shooting.* Experience working hands-on in a laboratory development environment.* Experience interpreting diagrams and drawings.* Excellent soldering skills.* Experience/course work in using computers, oscilloscopes and circuit probes to diagnose and trouble shoot electronic hardware.* Experience with vacuum chambers, pumps, feed-throughs and setup and operation of small scale vacuum systems.* Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a diverse team environment and collaborate with engineers and other technologists to solve problems.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to independently experiment, develop and present ideas/results to the team.* Desire to work in a fast-paced/schedule driven environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deliverable deadlines.* Commitment to and the patience to implement the concept of continuous improvement.* Active DOE Q-Level security clearance.About Our TeamThe Monitor Integration and Switchtube Component Engineering Department (2581) is an integrated science- and engineering-based design, development, and production organization that delivers two main products, neutron detectors and high-voltage vacuum switches to support national security needs.
