Corporation is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead
Systems Specialist to support our Building Automation & HVAC
Controls division based out of our Albuquerque office. This role
serves as the on-site technical lead for HVAC controls and Building
Automation System (BAS) projects, overseeing system design,
programming, installation coordination, commissioning, integration,
cost performance, customer satisfaction, and project closeout. This
position requires strong technical capability in HVAC controls,
experience managing multiple project stakeholders, and the ability
to lead the complete project lifecycle. You will support a broad
customer base including public sector, commercial, and education
clients while working closely with mechanical and general
contractors. Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Technical
Leadership Lead Building Automation System (BAS) and HVAC controls
projects from planning through closeout. Develop hardware design,
system architecture, and software programming for digital HVAC
control systems. Oversee commissioning, system verification, device
testing, network connections, and performance validation. Ensure
accurate as-built documentation, commissioning reports, and system
backups. Direct, support, and mentor Systems Technicians,
Designers, Electrical Installers, and subcontractors. Coordinate
installation tasks, device placement, and system integration in the
field. Project Management & Client Communication Manage project
cost, schedule, materials, forecasting, and profitability. Oversee
procurement, vendor pricing, subcontractor scopes, and material
delivery schedules. Maintain consistent communication with
customers, construction partners, and internal teams. Attend
project progress meetings and generate timely project status
updates. Identify, document, and secure change orders when scopes
or conditions change. Support accurate and timely invoicing,
billing, and documentation. Controls Design, Integration &
Networking Develop BAS graphics, programming logic, and system
integration sequences. Ensure seamless integration with building
networks and mechanical systems. Support design-build HVAC control
scopes including graphics, integration, commissioning, and network
coordination. Customer Training & Closeout Perform owner/operator
training on BAS controls and system operation. Provide O&M
manuals, warranty documentation, and operator resources. Ensure
proper warranty procedures and follow-up are completed. Types of
Projects Supported Commercial and public-sector building automation
systems K–12 and university facilities Service contracts and
long-term support clients HVAC controls upgrade projects New
construction and retrofit BAS installations Competitive bid work
with GCs and mechanical contractors Design-build HVAC controls
scopes Required Qualifications Top Must-Haves High proficiency with
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams. Demonstrated experience
leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical teams. Strong HVAC
controls knowledge including commissioning, programming, and system
design. Minimum Experience Technical Associate’s Degree or 4 years
of hands-on BAS/HVAC controls field experience. Strong
understanding of digital HVAC controls, control theory, and
mechanical equipment. Experience commissioning controllers,
configuring networks, and verifying system performance. Ability to
independently manage technical tasks and communicate with
non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with project cost tracking,
budgeting, and scheduling. Preferred Qualifications Experience with
Delta Controls systems (major advantage). Previous employment with
BAS industry companies such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, or
similar. Experience working with mechanical contractors or
design-build projects. Knowledge of building networks, low-voltage
system integration, and BAS graphics development. Disqualifiers
