Your Opportunity
Our Southwest offices are seeking a Process Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team of water professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of clients. As a process engineer, you will work in a supportive team environment and have exposure to water infrastructure design projects that include water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations. You may also be involved in planning, design, and construction of critical infrastructure projects, including new pump stations and rehabilitation and upgrades of existing water and wastewater treatment plants.
Your Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with local and virtual project teams and senior project staff to produce high quality work products for our water and wastewater clients with a moderate level of guidance. As such, tasks may include performing engineering calculations, preparing detailed design drawings and specifications, preparing planning and technical engineering reports, and designing pipelines, pump stations, and treatment processes. All tasks will be performed under the supervision of a professional engineer. Other responsibilities include:



  • Perform site visits, condition assessments, and observe startup operations, as necessary.


  • Continually acquire new knowledge of and experience with a variety of innovative technologies, treatment approaches, and design tools.


  • Suggest practices to contribute to sustainable development goals.


  • Develop ability to identify resources need to complete small-scale projects or assignments.


  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and adapt to project changes.


  • Develop your professional network within the water industry through interactions with clients, regulatory agencies, other consulting firms, and industry organizations.


  • Develop coaching skills by helping less experienced staff and interns in completing technical project assignments.


    Qualifications
    Your Capabilities and Credentials


    • Thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts of process/mechanical engineering or civil/environmental engineering.


    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.


    • Ability to manage multiple project assignments, prioritize, and take direction.


    • Ability to prepare complete, concise, and organized engineering studies and designs.


    • Willingness and ability to perform field work, as needed, within the Denver Metro area.


      Education and Experience


      • BS degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or related field, required.


      • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required, or ability to achieve within 1 year


      • 0-5 years of experience in the planning or design of water, wastewater, or related infrastructure.


        This position will involve a typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Staff may also opt to work a portion of their time at home. EIT level staff are encouraged to work from the office or job site a minimum of 3 days a week on average.
