Job Description: Data Basis LLC is actively seeking an experienced Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist II to support our enterprise data management team. We provide mission critical information technologies (IT) support for our client, The Indian Health Service (IHS). Our team provides enterprise level support for the National Patient Information Reporting System (NPIRS).

This position will be part of a team that is designing and building the next generation of business intelligence tools that will optimize and provide business users with the information solutions needed to make timely and informed business decisions to support our customer in the Healthcare industry. Candidates must have a strong drive, attention to detail, a collaborative work style, and a passion for solving hard problems as simply as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties: In this role, the Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create documentation methodology, information, system flow diagrams, and related frameworks
Develop and maintain user-training materials including curricula.
Develop FAQs for use on line.
Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures, guides and manuals
Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts in collaboration with the Architect, Program Manager and developers
Produce electronic documentation or hard copy manuals as required
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation, including posting and editing documents on SharePoint.
Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
Manage updates and revisions to technical literature including periodic reviews for accuracy or changes
Produce high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
Work and attend meetings with internal teams to determine product documentation requirements and context.
Document meeting decisions for incorporation in product requirements and documentation
Write easy-to-understand user interface, online help and developer guides
Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of contract deliverables are met
Create tutorials to help end-users and technical staff use a variety of applications and systems
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
Develop and maintain Service Level Agreements and track related issues
Coordinate document lifecycle with stakeholders including version control, management of drafts, merging periodic revisions and publishing final releases
Assist in the production and timely delivery of monthly status/progress reports
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Determine the clearest and most logical way to present technical information for the greatest reader comprehension
With guidance from subject matter experts, ensure specialized topics are appropriately and accurately captured in all relative documentation
Analyze information for development or updates of policies, procedures, and form documentation
Strong written communication skills required

Our U.S. Federal Government client contractually requires us to hire ONLY U.S. Citizens or Green card holders for support of this contract.
Proof of COVID Vaccination required per Executive Order 14042 is a mandatory requirement
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience and/or technical training.
2years of experience directly applicable technical writing experience including excellent communications, clear, clean, accessible writing and a keen eye for consistency and technical accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills include:
Applicant should have ability to learn applications sufficient to determine flow, user issues, and completeness of documentation and to work under tight deadlines
Strong Organization Skills, Communication Proficiency, Thoroughness, Problem Solving/Analysis, Teamwork Orientation, Initiative, and Strong attention to detail
Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences that include end-users, Analysts, and Management
Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking and Section 508 adherence implementation
Current and/or prior IHS experience
Current and/or prior Public Trust Clearance
Direct experience with Healthcare Clinical Data
