In this position, you will prepare financial statements; establish and maintain the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the organization; and handle all other general accounting and bookkeeping functions. The long-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Albuquerque, New Mexico.Please submit your resume to *hector.colunga@accountemps.com*Your responsibilities in this role

• Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
• Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
• Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
• Filing documents to maintain historical records
• Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
• Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules
• Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time
• Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collectionsRequirements
  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision
  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Prepare Financial Statements experience
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping
  • Expertise in QuickBooks
  • Proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Excel and Peachtree experience a plus
  • 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures
