energy industry! The Senior Manager, Material Planner Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for a Senior Material Planning Manager
to be the point person for all material needs from our region and
dealer locations. This position will manage and optimize material
planning for each of our regions, distributors, suppliers, and
partners. This position also works with local managers and partners
to maintain correct inventory levels for production and reduce and
eliminate stale inventory.
Senior Manager, Material Planner Responsibilities
- Works with suppliers and distributors to meet expected forecast
and on-time delivery of materials; plans for material demand
- Leads daily part inventory coverage reviews and devises
alternative plans when gaps arise
- Examines, executes, and approves expedites to ensure material
availability for sustainable operations
- Provides oversight and coordinates inventory transfers; leads
the balance out efforts
- Evaluates entire supply chain for component shortages, shipment
delays, and below standard inventories
- Manages supply chain side of project implementation
- Examines obsolescence and finds creative ways to minimize
impact
- Improves material availability to support production and
customer requirements through corrective actions for availability
and span issues; improves supplier response times, transportation
planning and inventory management
- Tracks new components for new model introductions and block
changes
- Works with team to drive improvement of safety, quality, cost,
and delivery targets
- Develops Internal Demand based on forecast, shipments, open
orders, and future projects
- Develops and manages replenishment strategies using the
company's inventory management systems
- Performs inventory analysis based on current production,
shipping, and forecasts
- Executes all supply chain transitions including product
introduction and rationalization, changes to formulations,
allocation events, major process changes, risk mitigation
activities, and cost savings events that require coordination
across the organization.
- Develops, communicates, and maintains Standard Operating
Procedures, maintains training documentation on "How To's" for the
utilized systems
- Coordinates communication and is a point of contract for
distributors; coordinates with suppliers and analytics team to
analyze, collaborate, and communicate demand plans and inventory
requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering,
Supply Chain Management, or any closely related technical or
analytical field
- Strong knowledge of data, reporting, and analytics
- Bachelor's degree in, Supply Chain Management or other
Business-related field
- 10-15+ years related experience
- 8 - 10+ years' manager experience with multiple reports
- 5 - 6+ years' senior manager experience with multiple
reports
- Public company experience
- 3 - 5 years' experience in an energy market
- Intermediate to advanced skills using Excel (i.e., Pivot
Tables, V-lookups, IF Formulas and Macros)
- Knowledge of Material Relations Planning (MRP), scheduling, and
capacity planning principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS certification
- Familiarity with engineering, manufacturing, and production
processes
Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Strong understanding of MRP and Supply Chain Management
- Understanding of finance and generally accepted accounting
principles
- General knowledge of manufacturing flow process, company
practices and procedures
Working Conditions
- Open-office environment
- Overtime may be required during busy times
- Less than 20% estimated travel time
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of time working at computer workstation
